Bees Wax Collage

This was done back in October. It was my first attempt at bees wax and I loved working with the wax. Now that I look at it I see things that I don't like, the scale is totally off as I only had an 8x10 canvas to work on. It was a great experience and can't wait to try it again when I have better supplies.

Speaking of supplies, I received an email the other day from Schmooze With Suze and was excited to see this great new tool - a Hot Wax Stylus. This new tool has now been moved to the top of my wish list. Not only is it the small flat iron I wanted but it does so much more!

Good Things Do Happen

One day I was just sitting here doing some "blog surfing" as I like to call it when I came upon SheetLoad of Cards and there was a contest so I entered. Turns out I was one of the 4 runners up and received four packages of clear stamps. How cool is that?

I've been wanting to try out the clear stamps but just haven't invested in them as of yet so this will give me a chance to try them out. See good things do happen!

You've come a long way baby!

I wanted to share some of my first attempts at making ATC's. Why embarrass myself like this? Why not, its a great way to see how my art has progressed these past 6 months and maybe it will give others who are just starting out the confidence to give it a try. I know I was very overwhelmed when I fist began my journey. Luckily I found some great groups and made new friends who have been a blessing to me.

This is the very first ATC I made. It was nothing more then a playing card covered with an image from a magazine. I then added a quote I printed from the computer along with some ribbon and a real shell at the bottom. I didn't have any paints so I used nail polish to give it some sparkle.

This one was my first 4x4 for a swap after joining my first yahoo group. The background is just a plain brown paper bag. Working on a larger scale was fun!

And here is a small slideshow of some of my early creations - enjoy : )
